Approaching the All-Star Break, the Wizards currently are fourth in the Eastern Conference and have been playing great basketball lately.

The Wizards are in 1st place in the Southeast Division and 8th in the Eastern Conference.

Their star point guard John Wall is currently out six weeks with a knee injury. The Wizards are 7-2 without Wall, and the way they have played without him caused some controversy in the Wizards locker room between John Wall and Marcin Gortat.

After the 122-119-win over the Raptors, Marcin Gortat tweeted “Unbelievable win tonight! Great “team” victory!”–implying that without John Wall, they played great as a team.

John Wall later responded in an interview on TV saying, “I’m very prideful in finding my teammates and getting guys easy shots. Even more just shocking hearing it from him and understand he gets the most assists from me and gets the most spoon-fed baskets ever.”

Gortat, who had come up in trade rumors, responded, saying he was not coming for John Wall with that tweet.

“He felt it was a different way and he came back with that kind of a comment. So, now we got to ask each other questions, who’s attacking who?” Gortat said.

It seemed obvious Gortat was implying that without Wall, the Wizards played team basketball. But Gortat claimed he didn’t.

The Wizards were expected to make a trade for a big man at the deadline, but no trade was made. The Wizards were looking into a trade for DeAndre Jordan, but he was not dealt anywhere.

Wall and Gortat reportedly met in a private meeting to clear the air. For the team to be able to make a strong playoff run, these two will need to be on the same page.

The Wizards are also currently looking for a veteran point guard in free agency to help the team until John Wall returns from his injury.

If the Wizards remain consistent and keep playing good basketball, they should have a good seeding in the playoffs.
